Couldn’t Make It Up If I Tried

21 May

While putting away groceries today, I noticed that the manufacturer of the toilet paper I buy (Regina Rotoloni, in case you were wondering) is called Soffass.

Soffass, people.

Am I the only one who is slightly amused by that?

Is it coincidence?

Or sheer marketing genius?

The world may never know.

I’d love to see the commercial that goes with it!

    “With Soffass…”

“Since I have Soffass at home…”

Yay! Good to see your blogging again. So, does that mean anything in Italian or just purple marketing fun/play-on-words for English speakers? That’s funny. At first I was thinking sofas, then I got it–soft a$$. (Duh!)

HAHAHA – that is hilarious! I kind of hope it’s not on purpose – that makes it even funnier. however, either way is greatness!

Ah, the Italians – they just have a knack for language πŸ™‚

Well, Soffass is better than Hardass.

That is classy! Just as good as the one I spotted for a gas company called “Pass Gas”. Can you believe it?!?

My favorite brand of toilet paper is “Shitbegone”. No, this is not a joke. I actually saw it for sale at a shop in Brooklyn!

I can’t believe you can still buy that! I wanted to blog about it, because I want to meet the marketing manager who, way back in the ’80s, actually came up with it.
I used to save & send the wrappers to friends I thought it was so hilarious.
And then, I never saw it again on the market…so, alas!
As for your reverse blog, you can tell us in ‘old europe’ how the t.p. in America is scented, aloed, perfumed, and whatnot!!!!
